I am very pleased to share with you all news of a new addition to our Headquarters capability. Gareth Davies has joined us to take up a position of Honorary Secretary and Specialist Adviser to the WNTI Board.

Gareth brings with him over 20 years’ legal/commercial experience in the nuclear sector. He worked at Imperial College’s reactor then the nuclear team at Burges Salmon. Gareth advises domestic and overseas nuclear clients and has worked with most UK licenced sites. He sits on various Boards and committees, advising on compliance, strategy and growth. He chairs the DIT/ NIA International Group and previously chaired the NIA Decom and Waste Group. He is a Trustee and Director of the Nuclear Institute. Gareth has wide experience in corporate governance, particularly the not-for-profit sector, and has advised various organisations on governance, effectiveness and best practise. Gareth has acted as company secretary/ director to several UK businesses some with overseas ownership. He has worked with Radsafe for over 12 years on nuclear emergency response. Finally, Gareth has been involved in the SME and gender/diversity agendas for several years, most recently setting up the legal frameworks for WiN UK Limited and Inclusion and Diversity in Nuclear Ltd. Gareth has a keen interest in SMEs having set up and run the NDA SME mentoring scheme and enjoys mentoring small businesses. Gareth now co-owns a niche nuclear M & A consultancy in UK and France. Outside work Gareth enjoys rugby and fly fishing.

Clearly Gareth’s vast experience in nuclear will enhance WNTI’s capability to deliver our strategy and further our ambitions. I am sure you will join with me and welcome Gareth to the team.
