WNTI partners with WiN Global to launch WiN Transport and sponsor inaugural Contribution Award

WiN Global has launched WiN Transport, a professional network to increase visibility, recognition and inclusion for women in radioactive and nuclear material transport. The World Nuclear Transport Institute (WNTI) has joined as a partner and sponsor and will fund the inaugural WiN Transport Contribution Award.

WiN Transport is an official Group of Expertise from WiN Global that brings together professionals, students and anyone interested in radioactive and nuclear transport. Open to all genders, the group is supported by leading international organisations to promote inclusion, workforce development and knowledge sharing across the sector.

The group’s aims are to raise the profile of women in transport roles, support career development, contribute to advocacy and improve understanding of radioactive and nuclear transport through networking and learning opportunities. Its vision is to become the recognised global voice for the field, where greater diversity drives improved safety and security.

WNTI’s partnership and sponsorship highlight the importance of cross‑sector collaboration. As a founding partner and sponsor, WNTI will help amplify WiN Transport’s activities and reach within the international transport community. 

WNTI is also sponsoring the inaugural WiN Transport Contribution Award, established to recognise a woman whose work has made a meaningful and positive impact on nuclear and radioactive material transport.

The award will be presented at the World Nuclear Transport Conference (WNTC), taking place 28–29 October 2026 in Singapore. The inaugural nomination process will focus on the nuclear industry packaging and transport community, with plans to broaden eligibility in 2027. The winner will receive the award, a complimentary ticket to WNTC 2026, a keynote speaking opportunity, a £500 prize and recognition in WNTI and WiN Transport communications. 

Organisations are invited to circulate the call for nominations and submit candidates whose contributions — technical, operational, regulatory, leadership, mentoring, advocacy or innovative — have advanced the field.

Nominations must be submitted by 15 September 2026. The final selection will be made by the WNTI CEO, the WiN Global Expert Group Lead and the WiN Transport Lead and Co‑Lead.
