Scott Edwards has more than 30 years of experience with transportation and packaging of radioactive materials. He obtained his degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1989, a Masters in Business Administration from Xavier University in 2003, and is a certified Project Management Professional. He began working in radioactive materials transportation as a Lieutenant in the US Navy, and subsequently worked as a packaging engineer at the Hanford nuclear reservation. He has worked as a Project Manager on nuclear water treatment systems and on the Yucca Mountain Project. He managed transportation and packaging organizations at the US Department of Energy facilities of Fernald, Idaho National Laboratory, and Hanford, before becoming the Director of Transportation for AREVA, then Orano USA. He joined WNTI in July 2019.
