U.S. DOT Seeks Comments on Review of Hazardous Materials Transport Regulations

On June 4, 2025, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) published an Advanced Notice of Proposed Ruleming (ANPR) to solicit stakeholder feedback on whether to repeal or amend any requirements in the Hazardous Materials Rulemaking Procedures and Program Procedures, or the Hazardous Materials Regulations to eliminate undue burdens on the identification, development, and use of domestic energy resources and to improve government efficiency.

Applicable DOT regulations include:

40 CFR Parts 171 through 180, Hazardous Materials Regulations

Comments on this ANPRM must be received by August 4, 2025.
