The Secretariat of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is pleased to inform the non-governmental organizations receiving the present communication that the IAEA will hold the Open-Ended Meeting of Legal and Technical Experts on the Draft Code of Conduct on the Facilitation of the Safe and Secure Transport of Radioactive Material (hereinafter referred to as “event”) to be held at the IAEA’s Headquarters in Vienna, Austria, from 15 to 18 July 2024.
The purpose of the event is to discuss the draft Code of Conduct on the Facilitation of the Safe and Secure Transport of Radioactive Material submitted by the Denial of Shipment Working Group, pursuant to IAEA General Conference resolution GC(67)/RES/7, and to provide a report that summarizes the discussions and conclusions reached and formulates clear recommendations for a path forward.
