WNTI are delighted to introduce the revised version of our Fact Sheet, ‘The Safe Transport of Uranium Ore Concentrates’.

This new Fact Sheet offers explanations of what Uranium is, and its uses. Giving details of the Front End Fuel Cycle it shows why this material needs to be transported.

The packaging and transport of UOC is subject to stringent standards set by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which are applied through the various modal regulations. This includes using the correct packaging, labelling, and placarding.

Explaining the risks regarding radiation and contamination, together with the actions that need to be taken in the unlikely event of an emergency, give re-assurance that the environment, health of workers and the public are protected.
