Steven Crane is presently Transport Safety & Security Expert at Orano NPS in France. A graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Aston University UK, he then held various engineering positions firstly outside and then within the nuclear industry, in both the UK and France. Several years’ experience in both radioactive materials transport package design and licensing were then followed by many more years in quality management, and particularly technical roles in methods and expertise applied to the consigning and transport commissioning activities of the Orano group. In more recent times he has evolved to a role in expertise and supervision concerning both international and national regulations applying to both transport safety and transport security for the Orano group and outside.
