Pete Bryant

Incoming Chief Executive Officer

Pete is an experienced environmental and radiation protection professional with over 17 years experience working across the Nuclear Fuel Cycle. Through his career he has gained a wealth of experience in the areas of environment, sustainability, radiation protection, emergency preparedness and decommissioning including holding several senior roles within EDF Energy and the New Nuclear Build Company, Sizewell C.

He is active with the International Scientific and Policy Arena including as a member of the International Commission on Radiation Protection Task Group 120 on Radiological Protection for Radiation Emergencies and Malicious Events, and the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency Expert Group on International Recommendations (EGIR). Pete is additionally Chair of the World Nuclear Association Radiation Protection Working Group, and is Vice Chair of the International Radiation Protection Association Group on Public Understanding.

He was also former President of the Society for Radiological Protection, the UKs Chartered Professional Body for Radiation Safety and Radioactive Waste Management.

Pete holds an Honorary Professorship in Physics at the University of Liverpool specialising in Radiation Protection Science and Nuclear Energy Policy. He additionally was author of the book “Airborne Radioactive Discharge and Human and Environmental Health Effects”.

In his spare time Pete is a keen runner and helps his Partner run a coffee shop in Wales, where they live. He also is a science fiction and comic book fan.
