Chris is the Managing Director of Crummock Consultants Ltd, a professional services consultancy providing strategy, project and technical advice to the nuclear industry.  Chris commenced his career in environmental consultancy on flood and coastal defence for clients including the Environment Agency and Harwich Haven Authority.  He progressed to nuclear environmental consultancy, predominantly marine, aerial and hydrological, managing contracts with Sellafield Ltd and the Low Level Waste Repository (LLWR).  In 2001 Chris joined RM Consultants (now part of Orano) and became a safety case specialist for the nuclear sector (with customers including AWE, DSRL, UKAEA and Sellafield Ltd).

From 2006 onwards, Chris held several senior management roles in the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) covering engineering validation, strategy development, business case analysis, assurance and portfolio management.  He joined International Nuclear Services (INS) in 2016 as Business Services Director responsible amongst others for Strategy and Project Management.  He became the Strategy and Technical Director in 2019 and then Technology and Solutions Director for Nuclear Transport Services (NTS) in 2021 before departing in 2022 to set up his own business.

Chris is a trustee of the local branch of the Friends of Chernobyl Children registered charity, and treasurer for a Lake District agricultural show.  Living in Cumbria in NW England, he enjoys running and open water swimming.
