Summer School 2026

The WNTI Summer School offers a rare opportunity to develop expertise in emergency preparedness, operational response, and security resilience within an international, specialist learning environment.

Hosted by the World Nuclear Transport Institute in partnership with the University of Liverpool’s through the newly formed WNTI, this Summer School brings together regulators, operators, emergency responders, security professionals, and radiation protection specialists from around the world.

Across three highly interactive days, participants will engage with leading experts, examine real-world case studies, work directly with radiation detection equipment, and take part in immersive emergency and security simulations. The programme is designed not only to transfer knowledge, but to build confidence, competence, and professional networks that endure well beyond the classroom.

Participants completing the course will receive a University-endorsed Certificate of Completion following assessment.

• Emergency planners and first responders
• Nuclear and radiation regulators
• Security and risk managers
• Radiation protection professionals

Included in your Summer School registration fee, is a Drinks Reception on the Tuesday evening, 9th June, between 1800 – 2000hrs.  Join us at The Sky Bar, topfloor of the INNSiDE by Melia Hotel, situated on Hall Street, Liverpool L3 9LQ.  Enjoy spectacular views of Liverpool, whilst drinks and canape are served.  Please ensure that you advise us if you have any specific dietary restrictions or allergies. 

Accommodation has not been reserved for delegates, so you should make your own arrangements.
