Technical Committee 85 (TC85) deals with nuclear energy, nuclear technologies and radiological protection; standards relating to the transport of radioactive materials are dealt with by the ISO Working Group 4 (WG4: Transportation of radioactive material) in the Sub-Committee 5 (SC5: nuclear installations, processes and technologies) 

The 41st Plenary meeting of ISO TC85 SC5 will be held from 23 – 26 September 2024 in London, UK. The 12th ISO/TC85/SC5/WG4 meeting will be also held on 24 September.

This meeting is mainly to discuss:

  1. ISO 12807:2018 “Leakage testing on packages”
  2. ISO 7195:2020 “Packagings for the transport of uranium hexafluoride (UF6)”
  3. “Measurement of radiation level and surface contamination for packages and conveyances”

WNTI will be represented at ISO/TC85/SC5/WG4 by WNTI Specialist, Kuniharu Kinoshita.
