NUCLEAR FUEL LOGISTICS RAIL

The Nuclear Fuel Logistics Rail (BES) division of Orano NCS GMBH is a leading provider of transport and logistics services in the field of nuclear fuel logistics.

The focus is on large-scale projects, such as the implementation of security transports with spent fuel elements from power and research reactors and the return of high-level and intermediate-level waste from reprocessing to the German interim storage facilities (ZL) in trimodal transport.

The portfolio of BES also includes the implementation of rail transport of various uranium products from the field of uranium enrichment (U3O8, UF6).

Together with our group-internal heavy-duty service provider Orano NT, the rail nuclear fuel logistics division has done pioneering work with the concepts developed for the backup transports to the former reprocessing and to the German interim storage facilities (e.g. HAW transports to Gorleben, fuel elements relocation from the Obrigheim nuclear power plant to the Neckarwestheim district).
