The WNTI EPReSC22 Meeting Report has been published following WNTI’s participation in the 22nd meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Emergency Preparedness and Response Standards Committee (EPReSC), held in hybrid format from 22–24 June 2026.

During the meeting all documents submitted for review — DS532, DS535, DS544, DS548, DPP DS565, DPP DS566 and DPP DS567 — were approved by EPReSC as appropriate. Updates were also provided on the revision status of DS504, DS527, DS534 and DPP DS558, which remain under revision. Work continues in line with previous EPReSC guidance. DS504 and DS527 are expected to advance to the next stage of the IAEA safety‑standards development process in the near future.

The meeting also covered emerging nuclear technologies such as small modular reactors (SMRs), transportable nuclear power plants (TNPPs) and floating nuclear power plants (FNPPs). Member States highlighted the need for further experience‑sharing and discussion on these topics. Finland presented its approach to supporting SMR deployment in urban and near‑urban areas by moving from fixed‑distance emergency planning zones (EPZs) to risk‑informed, performance‑based emergency planning concepts.
